Installed at CURRENTS 2015 The Island of Pal is a large installation that centers around the main character, Pal, a 22” model horse, who has adventures that are captured in stop motion. The installation includes the narrative movie The Island of Pal that plays on a TV screen, bordered by a hand-crafted, ornately decorated, gold frame, a very small projection, Bed Chair, that plays on an unobtrusive spot within the install space, and two 10 foot projections that are mapped onto two 6 foot, 3 dimensional paintings, The Pond and The Island. The installation includes the Pal Corral, a raised, fenced platform that encloses the three actual horses that are the characters in the movie. Also displayed are two 3D printed spoons generated from a drawing and a hand-carved boat, all of which are woven into the projections and the narrative movie.
