2015 This is the narrative component of the Island of Pal installation. In the installation, the movie plays on an ornately framed screen. The movie is the story of Pal’s adventures on the island; he meets Silver Girl and other horses, including a reflected self. He is our guide and our transport to other realms. The Horse is an intermediary between the domestic realm and the uncharted. Pal is a hallowed messenger, a transport to sacred realms. He is an emissary to and from the dream world. He teaches us to dream by his animal persona in the ordinary world. Pal has his own island; he will let us come to it and play. Art can be a map to inner territories, the unknown, the uncomfortable, the future.
